Two injured in Clayton motorcycle wreck

A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured in a wreck Sunday afternoon at mile marker 306 near the U.S. Highway 70 exit in Clayton, according to state troopers.

CLAYTON, N.C. — A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured in a wreck Sunday afternoon at mile marker 306 near the U.S. Highway 70 exit in Clayton, according to state troopers.

The man and woman, whose names were not released, crashed into the back of a car around 1 p.m. after traffic slowed in front of them. The motorcyclist laid the bike down on the road before crashing into the back of the car, troopers said.

The man was in stable condition, and the woman was in serious condition at WakeMed. No other information was released.
