— Raleigh police arrested two people Monday in connection with sex crimes against a child under the age of 13.

Jacqueline Michelle Cannady, 22, was jailed under a $20,000 secured bond on two counts of indecent liberties with a minor.

Shearin was charged with one count of indecent liberties with a minor and three counts of first-degree sex offense with a child. He was jailed under a $750,000 bond.

Authorities say the alleged crimes happened in April and that they knew the child. A police spokeswoman said the two were not in a position of authority over the child.

They should have had the same bond and when found guilty the same long sentence. I hope the child does not have any injuries.

"Now they will wear a label for the rest of their life."

    Assuming they are convicted.

I'm not so sure I agree with a mere $20K bond for ANY child related sex offense, even if they feel the person isn't likely to repeat the crime.

No excuse for any of this.....but why is her bail 20G?......and his bail 750?

  • Confucius say Jul 15, 2014

That's a huge difference in the bond amounts.

They both knew right from wrong and yet they did it any way. Now they will wear a label for the rest of their life.

It's sad for ANY child that has to live a life in the projects.
