— Two students in Fayetteville were arrested after a fight broke out at Jack Britt High School Thursday afternoon, deputies said.

Investigators said Antonio Skeete, 16, of 6560 Honeysuckle Drive, and Teron Rutledge, 16, of 6510 Sprucewood Road, were arrested after they began fighting in front of the school shortly after 1:00 p.m., Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said.

Skeete, who continued to fight and advance aggressively toward a sheriff’s deputy, was subdued with a Taser and taken into custody, she said.

Skeete and Rutledge are charged with resist, delay and obstruction of justice and simple affray. Both were being processed Thursday afternoon at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
It’s not known if school officials will seek disciplinary action, Tanna said.

"The problem is, if anyone actually points this out, they will be called a racist. Don't you realize, you can only point out the obvious if it is positive. If you supply any constructive critisizm you are immediately labeled racist"

Ridiculous statement. There are certainly enough racists on GoLo, but I don't consider the referenced statement to be one. However, education has always been a means of keeping certain groups in their "places." The problems occur when those uneducated folks don't have the insight to know when they are being set up for failure. Some of us maintain power and influence by keeping certain others at the bottom of the economic ladder. All of us pay for it through higher taxes and fear for ourselves and love ones. This won't be the last time we hear about these two individuals.

"Yes, it's true they may end up as uneducated gang bangers and perhaps unemployeed living off the welfare system, but I believe if they can put down their 9mm and pull up their baggy pants and get a job..." - jackieflash42

"misunderstanding behind them so they can continue pursuing their education...graduate, and then move on to college for their bachelor degrees." -jackieflash42

You have got to be kidding me. The last thing these two are doing at Jack Britt high school is pursuing an education.

Two more in the court system as usual. They're just following suit as expected. No real news here.

I'm hoping these two young men can put this little misunderstanding behind them so they can continue pursuing their education...graduate, and then move on to college for their bachelor degrees.

"It’s not known if school officials will seek disciplinary action"

Unfortunately, this probably doesn't rise to the level of expulsion just another day in high school.
