— Two 12-year-olds were hurt Saturday after police said they rode their bicycle into the path of a car on Pine Knoll Drive in Raleigh.

The accident happened about 6:15 p.m. near the intersection with Manhasset Lane. Raleigh police said the children – Ariana Mack and Cameron Clarkson-Blake – were both on the same bicycle.

Both the boy and girl were taken to WakeMed, but Clarkson-Blake's injuries were the more serious of the two. Their exact conditions were not released.

Police said the driver was not at fault and was not charged.

Glad the kids will be OK. Could have been much worse. Hopefully many parents will use this as a teaching moment......kids on bikes mostly pay attention, but I've seen more than a few who do not so the onus is on the drivers....
