Two charged with shoplifting in Wake County

Raleigh, N.C. — A man and woman were charged with shoplifting in separate incidents at stores in Wake County Friday, according to arrest warrants.
Warrants state that Christopher Erik Simmons, 37, of 320 Rush St. in Raleigh, was caught Friday trying to sneak two TVs and three cameras worth nearly $1,000 out a side door of a Target store in Wake Forest.
Investigators also charged Simmons in the thefts of a diapers, TVs and video games from a Target store in Raleigh on Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. He was also served with an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court to face driving while impaired charges in March.
Simmons was placed in the Wake County jail under a $500,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Monday.
As well, Deborah Ann Cona-Overaker, of 215 Carrol St. in Wake Forest, was charged with removing the anti-theft devices from articles of clothing and trying to take them from a Khol's store in Raleigh Friday, according to arrest warrants.
She was placed in the Wake County jail under a $3,500 secured bond. She was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
