Two charged with killing Castalia man

CASTALIA, N.C. — Two men have been charged with the September shooting death of a Castalia man, authorities said Thursday.

Stanley Chi, 50, of 11390 Red Bud Road, was found dead in his home on Sept. 9, and authorities determined he had been shot.

Darrell Maurice Hicks, 23, and Jermaine Antwaun Drake, 24, both of Smooth Rider Road in Louisburg, have been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and armed robbery. Both men were being held Thursday without bond in the Nash County Jail.

Drake was arrested at his home Wednesday. Hicks was arrested Thursday at the Franklin County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated assault and robbery charges, authorities said.
