Two Fort Bragg soldiers were killed and two other people were injured in a collision Thursday night in Fayetteville, police said.

The crash happened about 9:35 p.m. at Yadkin Road and Cimarron Drive. Fayetteville police said officers found Amber Bostian, 26, dead at the scene. Bostian was a passenger in a 2004 Pontiac GTO driven by Michael Hickey, 25.

Hickey was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Police said Hickey was driving northwest on Yadkin Road when he lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta.

The occupants of the Jetta – Markita Parks, 26, and Rashaad Mitchell, 24, both of Fayetteville  –  were also taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with injures. Details on their conditions were not immediately available.

Police said speeding and racing are being examined as contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Our society must be going to hell when people engage in useless arguments on the internet, and show not one shred of compassion for the families this affects.

Let the State Troopers do their jobs and make the conclusions... THAT IS what we pay them for!!! Please!

I did many things that needlessly endangered my life when I was in my twenties.

RIP soldiers. It is never easy for family and friends to lose people so young... and it is quite tragic in this case to lose two of them. I hope the family can realize not everyone posting on the internet is an (redacted).

I appreciate the young man's and young woman's service to our country and hope the family finds some peace remembering the good in their kids.

Seriously? I doubt that the width of the road had much to do with this accident. For both people to be killed speed must have been the dominating factor. I agree, Yadkin is dangerous and too narrow but come on! And we need to limit the # of cylinders on cars? Really? What happened to personal responsibility? The lack of it in this country sickens me.

yadkin rd is so narrow because it was changed from a 4 lane road to a 4 lane with center turn lane.... without widening it at all. A stupid decision by the powers that be, even with only 4 lanes it was fast and dangerous.

Racing and stupidity never mix.

+++I agree, it was the completely the car's fault. We should require that all autos, trucks, cars, motorcycles, scooters and bicycles be restricited to 70 mph. We don't need to go any faster ever, even for hunting. And that includes NASCAR, they drive entirely too fast out there. Life-goes-on+++

lol, that's great!
