— Two Fort Bragg soldiers were killed last week in Afghanistan, the Army said Wednesday.

Cpl. Colby Lee Richmond, 28, of Providence, N.C., and Cpl. Devin James Daniels, 22, of Kuna, Idaho, died Aug. 25 after an improvised explosive device exploded, officials said.

Both men were assigned to the 546th Transportation Company, 82nd Sustainment Brigade.

Richmond is survived by his wife and 6-year-old son. Daniels is survived by his wife and 8-month-old daughter.

Fort Bragg held a private memorial service for both men Wednesday.

Every news channel in America should air the pictures and names of the fallen soldiers who are giving their lives for this country every day. We as a people are too complacent about our fighting men and women, glossing over their names in the paper as if they were no better than a paid advertisment. Shame on you, America and shame on Washington for keeping us in this useless and expensive war.

It's too bad that people have become desensitized to this type of news. We should all be shocked and outraged. This "war" should have ended a long time ago.

This is such a sad story and hits very close to home. Cpl. Richmond is from my home county and I worked with his mother years ago. Please keep his mother in your prayers this was her only child and she lost her husband not too long ago also. Thoughts and prayers also for Cpl. Daniels family. Thank you both for your service to our country, may you both rest in peace.
