— Authorities have arrested two suspects and named a third in a case where men in an SUV searched the parking lots of Rocky Mount businesses for women to rob or defraud.

A woman told police that three men in a black SUV kidnapped her Wednesday evening from the parking lot of Cracker Barrel, 238 Enterprise Drive, and forced her to buy them $20 in gas.

On Thursday, police received a tip that the suspect vehicle might be in the Red Oak Service Station area in Nash County. A sheriff's deputy stopped the vehicle and contacted Rocky Mount police.

Stacey Len Bryant, 35, and Christopher Conner, 24, were arrested and charged with common-law robbery and second-degree kidnapping. They were placed in the Nash County Jail under separate $30,000 secured bonds.

Arrest warrants for the same charges have been issued against Jamie Ray Bryant, 32. He remains at large.

Police said they are looking into reports of similar incidents as part of the ongoing investigation.

Anyone who sees Jamie Bryant should immediately call Rocky Mount police at 252-972-1411.

Stacey Bryant and Jamie Bryant are brothers, police said. According to state Department of Correction records, they both have lengthy criminal records dating to the early 1990s, including multiple convictions for larceny and breaking-and-entering.

DOC records say that Stacey Bryant was released from prison Oct. 14 after serving more than 4 years for common-law robbery, four counts of larceny over $1,000 and four counts of felony breaking-and-entering, among other charges.

Jamie Bryant has also been convicted of selling drugs, according to DOC records.

Yes but in the right way. Being angry makes you do things you will surely regret. Think about it first.

I am right. You are the "eye for an eye." I understand. But never take the law into your own hands and find yourself sitting behind bars in some prison. I don't believe you would want that. Think about that!
