Two arrested in north Raleigh shooting

Two men have been charged in connection with the shooting of a 48-year-old man in north Raleigh late Friday afternoon, police said Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Two men have been charged in connection with the shooting of a 48-year-old man in north Raleigh late Friday afternoon, police said Saturday.

Kevin Matthew Royster was shot outside 2010 Quail Forest Drive around 5 p.m., police said. He drove himself to a convenience store at East Millbrook Road and Atlantic Avenue to seek help.

Royster was transported to WakeMed Hospital, where his condition has improved from critical to fair.

William Jocoby Singletary, 21, and Fritz St Louis, 22, were arrested and taken to the Wake County jail on Saturday. They each face charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

St Louis was also charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

The shooting is still under investigation, but is not believed to be random, police said. They have not released information on how the suspects and victim may have known each other.
