— Raleigh police on Sunday confirmed that they have made two arrests in connection with a shooting that wounded a 15-year-old Raleigh boy March 26.

The shooting happened in the front yard of a home at 125 Bertie Drive during a house party. Investigators say the boy was out in the yard shortly after 1 a.m. when someone in a dark red Cadillac drove by and opened fire.

The injured teen, whom police identified as David Lee Byrd, was shot in the stomach and taken to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.

Anthony Leon Evans, 21, and Justin Carlton Jones, 16, have been arrested in the case and were being held Monday in the Wake County jail. Evans is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and felony conspiracy, while Jones is charged with felony possession a stolen firearm.

This is why they get away with everything. WHERE ARE THE PARENTS??????????????????? The 16 year old parents should be held accountable too.

Let me guess, these are the same people who you may have seen weeks/months ago walking thru their streets doing those candle light services "calling for peace" because this had already happened to a freind of theirs....I also like those here ask where are the parents???...let me guess across town at another candle light street walk...wth these ppl dont need to go thru our court systems, they just need a trip out behind the shed.

"and where were this kids parents? A 15 year old out at a party at 1 AM? His rear end needed to be home and in bed."

They were probably at the party...or hosting it.

I have been in the Criminal Justice field for 32+ years. I have worked inside our prisons and have worked in community corrections. What I find distrubing is the fact that offenders coming to prison these day have a high disregard for their life and the lives affected by their action that caused them to be incarcerated in the first place. Offenders will be the first to tell facility staff that "doing 5 or 10 years don't scare me !! " Well doing such short time may not "scare" an offender but doing 20 to life will almost certainly get their attention. Additionally, parents have got to start being better parents and paying attention to children, after all plants unattended tend to grow wild and sometimes wreckless..PEACE

If we have lenient sentencing, then why is the incarceration rate so high?
