Two arrested for cross-county burglary spree

A man and woman from Middlesex were arrested Tuesday after they tried to sell stolen jewelry to a gold buyer, authorities said.

MIDDLESEX, N.C. — A man and woman from Middlesex were arrested Tuesday after they tried to sell stolen jewelry to a gold buyer, authorities said.

Richard Phillip Mullins, 36, and Lindsey Marie O’Hara, 28, both of 13336 N.C. Highway 231 South, were being held Thursday at the Nash County jail on $50,000 bond. They are charged with breaking, entering and larceny for a series of burglaries in Nash, Franklin, Wilson, Wake and Johnston counties.

Investigators found some stolen items in the suspects’ possession during a vehicle stop.

Further investigation recovered a large assortment of electronic items and firearms. Victims are being contacted to identify their property.
