The Ghost Train, which started back in 1990, will return on Friday and Saturday nights from Sept. 22 to Oct. 28, turning the amusement park in the Blue Ridge Mountains into a spooky Halloween destination.
Daytime park visitors can still enjoy all of Tweetsie Railroad¹s Wild West adventures, rides, shows and attractions. But, each night at 7:30 p.m., Tweetsie Railroad will transform into a haunted park. The Ghost Train will depart every 30 minutes.
In addition to the train, there's also the Freaky Forest, the Haunted House with 13 spooky rooms, a 3-D Maze, a Black Hole, a Warp Tunnel and The Boneyard, among other attractions. Kids can go trick-or-treating and hang out with the park's characters during the Main Street Halloween party.
Just how spooky is the Ghost Train? It depends on who is asking. According to Tweetsie's website, the event has something for all ages. Tweetsie, however, doesn't recommend the Haunted House, the Freaky Forest, or the Ghost Train for children under age 8. Something else to know: There are loud explosions on the Ghost Train ride
