RALEIGH, N.C. — The General Assembly doesn't reconvene until Wednesday, but that didn't stop the House and Senate from butting heads Tuesday over a health bill.

Lawmakers were able to advance a proposed tax on e-cigarettes and some other changes to last year's sweeping tax reform package, although the latter also prompted some jostling between House and Senate members of the Joint Revenue Laws Study Committee.
