Weekly Totals: Grocery expenses for the last week

Posted June 11, 2013

Here are my grocery and drug store totals for the week that included 6/5 – 6/11. I am going to start sharing my grocery totals here and there (well, whenever I have time to put this list together!) so you can see where I am shopping and what I am saving.

Please feel free to share your weekly totals as well.

As you can see, I did not spend much money at all this last week. With the Lowes Foods Super Doubles and a $25 Kroger gift card for transferring a prescription, my weekly total was only $40! I plan on doing a big shop on Friday or Saturday in preparation for our Father’s Day cookout.

It's a good thing that I spent so little last week at the grocery store because dinner out at the beach is pricey! :-)

Thanks to all of you who shared your shopping totals and trips this week!

Rock on Faye!!!!! That is wonderful! I just haven't had time to drive to the Lowes but would have liked to get my super double "fix". :-)

Didn't track my week as a whole, but started the Super Doubles with Lowe's Foods by spending $5.00, saved $68.00 that trip - just went one more time today and spent $11.14 (at 2 stores total) saving $65.63 total, percentage of 85.5% - my sister just got me into couponing in March and has taught me a lot - I've taken on an entire new meaning from the word "free" :)

In the past week, I have gone to BJ's and spent way too much money, as is always the case at BJ's. We bought frozen wild caught (product of USA) cod, frozen wild caught palacio, a huge container of sliced mushrooms, a big BIG bag of cat food, a bulk thing of Q-tips, a bulk thing of Kleenex, a large container of organic cinnamon, and a gallon of organic milk. I had a couple of BJ's coupons, but the total was still $79!! GASP!!

I also went to Lowe's Foods and got Yasso yogurt bars, Cedars Hummus, 2 packs of thin boneless pork chops, Fruttare strawberry frozen bars, 1 bottle of shampoo. I saved $21+. I spent $7.50ish.

Lowes: Total retail $57.50, OOP 36.85, saved $20.65 or 36%. I had a 15% off deli, so treated ourselves. Bought proscuitto, ham, swiss, american, 3 kaiserrolls, cantaloupe, 2 big boxes of wheaties ($2 ea) to bring to my Dad for my next visit because they are never less than $5 there, 2 fritos, whipped cream for the brown rice pudding I made from HT's sale the previous week on brown rice. I have yet to find a single bag of Birds Eye steamfresh despite multiple store trips.

HT: Total retail $133.79, OOP $59.36, saved $74.43 or 56%. 2 muellers, free anchovies, 2 tide, 3 triscuit, clorox bleach, 2 stew meat, a huge london broil (4 meals worth), chicken legs, 2 alouette, 4 heads garlic, fresh green beans, sweet potatoes, 2 scallions, 3 LOL butter spread, 4 HT shredded cheese, 2 medium garbage bags. I was really happy with the savings on that trip given that a lot of what I bought were non-coupon items. The rest were good sale/coupon/zvr deals.

You inspire me with your weekly totals. Wish I could be that good. I save anywhere from 55% to 75% each on each trip. I have learned a lot from your blog. Know you spend a lot of time helping all of us couponers. Can't thank you enough.
