Dessert Won Tons

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

Dessert Won Tons

I FINALLY made the cream cheese and strawberry dessert won tons that I have been talking about for days! They were delicious and they looked so cute, as you can see in the photo above.

I used the basic recipe from Diana at Basically I just put a dollop of light cream cheese and a little bit of strawberry preserves in the middle of a won ton wrapper (bought at Harris Teeter in produce section). Moisten the edge of the won ton with a little bit of water and then fold over to make a triangle. Heat 5 or 6 in vegetable oil on medium until they just begin to get light brown. If you like them crispier, heat longer. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Serve warm.

Our menu for the week includes:

jdouglas13 - Yikes on the early morning cooking and driving and nothing for dinner. What did you end up making?

I made homemade guac for the spinach quesadillas tonight. Sooooooo much better than pre-packaged. Love that .69 Aldi price!

Clearly I am not at my most literate at that hour of the morning. Yup, had to cook the dog's breakfast, Dang near killed me. I do NOT do food in the a.m. regardless of who is eating it. My sister had me up at some ridiculously early hour to take her to the bus for her flight and the dog had to eat first.

Still no clue what's for dinner, and it looks like super slim pickings in the freezer. I said something to Dad about breakfast for dinner and got a grunt in response. LOL ;)

losltp - Thanks! They were so easy to make. It is very rare that I fry anything, so it was a special treat.

Yep - they loved them. My oldest asked for crab rangoon this week so I picked up some Crab Classic on sale at FL and will make them at some point.

Jdouglas - you have to cook breakfast for the dog??

Faye- YAY! I'm so glad you liked them! And tonight we're going super simple and having another salad with chicken. I cooked up a double batch last night, and we have one more container of the .49 earthbound farm lettuce to use up :-)

Saw the pic and said to myself "she made them"! lol They look yummy! Enjoy.

Sorry, it's too early for me to think about. It was just about all I could stand to cook the dog's breakfast this a.m.

Coffee for me please. Lots and lots more coffee.
