Tryon Palace's annual free day is Saturday

Tryon Palace, a state historic site, is home of the Governor's Palace, North Carolina's first colonial and first state capitol, and includes historic buildings and gardens.
You'll also find the North Carolina History Center, which features some great interactive technology which really bring history alive for kids and adults. During Free Day, visitors can get 10 percent off gallery passes to see the exhibits inside the North Carolina History Center. (Passes are usually $12 for adults and $6 for kids).
