Tryon Palace

Tryon Palace in New Bern will host its regular Homeschool Day on May 3.

The hands-on program called "From Hearthfire to the Campfire" features a day exploring North Carolina's military history with hands-on activities, games and crafts. It includes tours of the Governor's Palace, three historic homes, gardens and the North Carolina History Center (which is fabulous).

Activities are designed for school-age kids. Some may have a minimum age requirement. For details, check Tryon Palace's website for details and registration information. New Bern is about two hours from Raleigh. Tryon Palace is well worth the drive.
