Trump, Pence to stop in Winston-Salem Monday; McCrory to tag along

Posted July 22

Fresh off his Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump will appear in Winston-Salem next week with Gov. Pat McCrory, U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, 5th District Congresswoman Virginia Foxx and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

Trump and his Republican cohorts will be in the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum annex on Monday at 8 p.m., according to state Republican Party officials.

Tickets for the event will be made available on Trump's website.

Trump is also scheduled to speak next week at the VFW National Convention in Charlotte. Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is also slated to speak at the VFW event.

The visit would mark Trump's third and fourth appearances to North Carolina in six weeks and Clinton's third stop in the same time, demonstrating the state's increasing importance in the November election.

Clinton has also been running a number of television and radio ads statewide in recent weeks.

Why Howdy, Mat! It was the former, of course... You must be "tagging along" in the "anti-liberal" camp, too, since you weren't able to figure it out correctly... ;-) Oh, and I have also been reading some of various posts you make, but there is nothing at all delightful about them... And you attempt to point out others' ignorance and stupidity. "Don't let them thar liberals walk all over you, Mat!" (pun intended)

Oh so indignant. Its called coattails. McCrory has been an utter and total failure at expressing himself and trying to hide the true impetus of HB2, his inaction on coal ash, his anti women stance, his destruction of the film industry in NC, and his once every election caring about education.

Honestly, I am surprised Trump lets a loser like him even attend. Though with burr there as well - one of the biggest do-nothing senators ever - it will be like the three blind mice.

Was your post meant to highlight the ignorance and stupidity of your targets or of yourself? It was much more effective in confirming the latter.

Gee, Marylin & Rodge... Y'alls skin is thinner than DumOld Rump's!!! I love your delightful comments every day, as petty as they may be. Stay a-skeered, VERY a-skeered... ;-)

Must you so blatantly demonstrate your liberal bias. This headline is disrespectful. This should be marked "editorial". Wonder if Roy will tag along when Clinton comes? Can't wait to see how you post that. Good thing here is Pat will not be insulted. You have to respect someone before they can insult you.

Our Governor doesn't "tag along". He attends, you wouldn't say that about Cooper if, God forbid, he was governor.
