— Gorman Street in Raleigh was temporarily closed early Wednesday after a truck hit a house and downed a power line.

Police said the driver ran from the scene after his truck wrecked in the 1600 block of Gorman Street around 4 a.m. Police were still searching for the driver about two hours later.

The truck struck the support of a porch and a grill on top of it.

Progress Energy crews were working to repair the power line. The 1500 and 1600 blocks of Gorman Street were closed while crews worked.

You are very astute forgeteverthing3428! I suspect the driver ran on foot.

Hate to speculate... but is sound like alcohol and youth could have both been factors.
