Truck fire delays traffic on I-40 West near Durham Freeway

— Authorities briefly closed all lanes of Interstate 40 West near N.C. Highway 147 Wednesday morning after a tractor-trailer caught fire on the shoulder.

It wasn't clear what caused the fire, but no injuries were reported. 

Authorities responded to the fire about 7:30 a.m., and N.C. Department of Transportation crews reopened the left lane to traffic about 8:10 a.m. All lanes reopened about 9 a.m.

    If you dont burn your exhaust or your auto-burn doesnt work.. THIS WILL HAPPEN!!!

    We got told once by our dispatch to continue driving even with the

    "DO NOT DRIVE!!!"

    light blasting away on the dash... um .. no ty. Send us a tow truck or im calling DOT...
