A trooper was injured early Saturday in a wreck at a traffic stop near Zebulon.

ZEBULON, N.C. — A trooper was injured early Saturday in a wreck at a traffic stop near Zebulon.

According to the state Highway Patrol, Trooper Courtney Dell stopped a vehicle traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 64 near mile marker 429 at about 12:30 a.m.

While Dell was inside her cruiser, a vehicle driven by a suspected drunken driver rammed into it, the Highway Patrol said. Dell’s cruiser then hit the vehicle that she had stopped.

Everyone involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

More details haven't been released.

Charges are pending in the incident, troopers said.
