RALEIGH, N.C. — After 40 years in business, Tripps on Wade Avenue in Raleigh has closed its doors.

Managing partner Cynthia Scott made the announcement via Facebook Tuesday.

"It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that our beloved Wade Avenue Tripps stopped serving our guests as of Monday, September 12. Over 40 years of memories, families, generations of guests passed through our doors and we appreciate your patronage of our establishment. A special mention and a shout of gratitude to Linda Tripp Corbin who celebrates 30 years as the face of Wade Avenue and greeted our guests with that gigantic smile every day," Scott wrote.

Tripps also has locations in Durham and Garner Station in Raleigh.
