Trio charged in Halifax armed robbery
A trio of Enfield men faces charges that they threatened a man with a gun and stole his money, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Ontarris Armstrong, 23, and Hakeem Armstrong, 21, were arrested Monday and Kourtnie Brice James, 20, Thursday on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.
Ontarris Armstrong and Hakeem Armstrong were given separate $15,000 bonds. All three were scheduled to appear in court Aug. 17.
Investigators said that James also faces accusations that he and Shalonda Monika Pope, 31, of Enfield, stole a purse and used the owner's credit cards at several Roanoke Rapids area businesses.
He and Pope were charged with six counts of identity theft, two counts each of common-law forgery and common-law uttering, and one count of financial card theft.
They were given separate $30,000 bonds and scheduled to appear in court Sept. 7.
Ontarris Armstrong, James and Pope all have criminal records, according to state Department of Correction records.
Ontarris Armstrong is on probation for May convictions for carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer, while James is on probation for a December conviction for misdemeanor larceny, DOC records state. He was also convicted of resisting an officer in 2008.
Pope has three larceny convictions from 2002 and 2008.
