RALEIGH, N.C. — A new bar has opened in the spot formerly occupied by Joel Lane's Public House. In a very quick turnaround, Cognito Bar and Grill opened its doors last Friday with a grand opening celebration. That was just one week after Joel Lanes closed! The bar owned by Kristy Corpora, who used to run DIVEbar in Raleigh. They have a full bar and menu.
The Chocolate Boutique opened its second retail location in Morrisville's Park West Village on Thursday. The store has all the things you love about their Lafayette Village store - wine, truffles and even carob covered bacon for dogs!
A new Planet Smoothie has opened up in the Mission Valley shopping center off of Avent Ferry Road in Raleigh.
Trophy Brewing Company on West Morgan Street in Raleigh has opened its patio. Hopefully, their pizza menu will be available soon.
Oak City Roasters have moved into their new warehouse on Hargett Street in Raleigh, according to their Facebook account. They aren't open for the public yet, but hopefully soon.
Some grand openings to tell you about. On Friday (today), Fitzgerald's Irish Pub on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill will hold its grand opening celebration starting at 5 p.m. Described as an "American Sports Bar with an Irish twist," they will be open seven days a week 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Also officially opening its doors Friday - Steel String Craft Brewery in Carrboro. They are holding two grand opening parties - Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $25 and guarantee entry, two free beers and unlimited food.
