Triangle restaurant news (Sept. 20, 2013)

RALEIGH, N.C. — Garland, located next to Kings Barcade in downtown Raleigh, will be suspending lunch service starting next week while they work on the dining room. You can still get your fix during their dinner service Thursday through Saturday. 

Serena's Sicilian Influenced Gastropub has opened a second location in north Raleigh along Creedmoor Road. Their first location is in RTP. 

Another opening to report: Big Apple Bagels has officially opened in the Falls River Towne Center in Raleigh, according to a post on their Facebook page.

In Wake Forest, Main Street Grill Pizzeria and Restaurant held its ribbon cutting this week, according to their Facebook page. They serve everything from breakfast to dinner. This place is from the same folks who brought you Main Street Grille Cafe and Bakery.

Town Hall Burger & Beer in Durham is expected to open on Tuesday near the Streets of Southpoint Mall, according to Triangle Food Guy.

Some exciting news about the Berkeley Cafe, which will close in downtown Raleigh on Oct. 1 for three-months of renovations. Triangle Food Guy is reporting that when they reopen in January they might be the new home of Sadlack's Heroes, which is having to relocate from Hillsborough Street. Nothing is final yet.

The Wine Feed is moving a few blocks to a new building on Glenwood South. The new location at 602 Glenwood Ave. is in the Hampton Inn and Suites building. They plan to have a more extensive selection of bottles on hand and a new wine bar with extended hours. The tentative reopening date will be mid-November. 

Hibernian owner Niall Hanley is readying two new ventures. According to the News and Observer, Hanley's restaurant and bar, The Station, is hoping to open in a few weeks in the former location of Rosie's Plate on Person Street near downtown Raleigh. The menu is expected to include pizza, sandwiches, brunch and a selection of craft beer. It will also have an outdoor covered patio with a fire pit! His second venture, Raleigh Beer Garden, will be located in his office at 614 Glenwood Ave. It will have more than 100 taps and have lots of greenery, according to the N&O.  Hibernian's Glenwood South location is hoping to reopen by the end of the year. It was shut down almost a year ago after a fire.

Some great news coming out of Lafayette Village in north Raleigh. The space formerly occupied by Antonio's Market is getting a new restaurant. Former Paparazzi chef Nunzio Scordo is hoping to open Driftwood Southern Kitchen by mid-November, according to the N&O's Greg Cox. Scordo is also helping out fellow Lafayette Village tenant Vinos Finos y Picadas with a new expanded kitchen so their bar menu will now include Cuban-style roast pork and more by the end of the month! 

The Fox and Hound is relaunching its brand with a new look and menu items. Head to the restaurant's North Hills location on Tuesday to try out a buffet of new and signature items. The $15 ticket price also covers two drinks. All proceeds go to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
