Triangle restaurant news (Sept. 13, 2013)

A Pop-Up Ice Cream location closes, and one of our Five Fave Mexican restaurants plans a new location.

RALEIGH, N.C. — In an unfortunate turn of events for downtown Raleigh, Pop-Up Ice Cream Parlour has decided to close their Oakwood location effective immediately. The store will close due to the cost of two leases and their Kickstarter goal not being met, according to an open letter posted on their Facebook page. Their Wilmington Street location will remain open through the end of October.
Great news for Wake Forest, Gonza Tacos y Tequilla is planning to open a location on South Main Street by mid-November, according to their Facebook page. Currently located on Lead Mine Road in Raleigh, they have made our Five Faves list twice - for best tacos and best Mexican food. 
The Point at Glenwood reopened this week after extensive renovations. 
Triangle Food Guy is reporting that City BBQ is coming to Cary. The Ohio franchise is expected to open a location on Kildaire Road. No additional info was available. 
Two more tidbits from Triangle Food Guy, Sunset Grille on Fayetteville Road in Durham is now operating at 58 Fifty Bistro and Martini Bar, and Town Hall Burger & Beer in Durham will be opening on Sept. 23.
Gregoria's Kitchen, which closed after a fire, is planning to re-open at a new location, according to the Herald-Sun. They will move from Chapel Hill Road in Durham to 2701 Hillsborough Road. They are hoping to open in six to eight weeks after renovations are done to the building. 
The Herald-Sun is also reporting that The Colorado Burrito Place will be opening later this month in the Shops at Daniel Boone Village in Hillsborough. 
The Fox and Hound is relaunching its brand with a new look and menu items. Head to the restaurant's North Hills location on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to try out a buffet of new and signature items. The $15 ticket price also covers two drinks. All proceeds go to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. 
The Oakwood/Mordecai area is getting a new restaurant: Person Street Bar. According to their Facebook page, the restaurant will be a "private neighborhood social club" which aims to attract crowds from the immediate area. No word yet on when they will open, but we're going to keep an eye on it!
