Triangle Restaurant News: Organic restaurant opens in north Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — A few new openings to report and we say goodbye to a Raleigh restaurant that has been in operation for 20 years. 

The Medlin, a new neighborhood bar at 3037 Medlin Drive in Raleigh, opened its doors on Christmas Day. It is located in a small shopping area off of Dixie Trail, and is owned by the same folks who own The Goat bar.

In bottle shop news, another new bottle shop has opened in Raleigh. House of Hops is located at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Duraleigh Road. It is a full service craft beet bottle shop but also has 24 draft beers on tap. 

Organic Festival is now open near Triangle Town Center mall in north Raleigh. The restaurant is 100 percent organic. It is open for lunch and dinner. Owners hope to add breakfast items in the spring.

The French Corner Bakery has opened at 2005 North Pointe Drive in Durham, Triangle Business Journal reports. The restaurant serves artisan breads, baked goods and lunch.

In Apex, there is a new Mediterranean and Greek deli. Sultan's Deli has opened in Beaver Creek Crossing, Triangle Food Guy reports. 

Nana's owner Scott Howell has opened Bar Virgile, at 105 S. Mangum St., in the rear annex of the former Citizens National Bank building. 

Triangle Food Guy reports that Town Hall Burger in Durham is planning to open its expanded bar by Jan. 1. 

Sam and Wally's Eatery on Fayetteville Street closed its doors this week after 20 years in business.

Also, Triangle Food Guy reports that Jade Garden on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh has closed. 

Market Street Coffee on 9th Street in Durham has closed, Triangle Explorer reports. Triangle Business Journal says that the space will soon be occupied by a new juice and coffee bar.
