A new dessert and cocktail lounge is now open in downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C.Bittersweet, a dessert and cocktail lounge in downtown Raleigh, officially opens at 5 p.m. today (Friday). Located on East Martin Street, this lounge and restaurant will also serve coffee and bar snacks. 
Demo's Pizzeria opened this week in the former home of Bada Bing on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. They are serving pizza and other Italian fare.  
Neomonde is changing the name of its Strickland Road location in Raleigh. Starting Sunday, it will be known as Sassool Cafe, Market and Bakery. The name change is in honor of the owners' mother. The other Neomonde locations will not change their names. 
Standard Foods Grocery and Restaurant is coming to Person Street Plaza in downtown Raleigh, New Raleigh reports. It will be in the same spot that Market had planned to open in. Standard Foods is expected to open in late fall. 
San Jose Mexican Restaurant is coming to Wakefield. The Triangle Business Journal reports that owners have leased half of a new building near the Rex Wellness Center and the Harris Teeter off of Capital Boulevard and Falls of Neuse Road. Construction will begin this summer and the restaurant is hoping to open by late fall. There is another San Jose near Triangle Town Center in Raleigh. Great food! Try the freshly made guacamole!
OnlyBurger will be opening its second brick-and-mortar location at American Tobacco Campus in Durham this August. 
We are getting closer to the opening of Growler Grlz in Durham. The growler shop on Hope Valley Road is holding its grand opening May 16. They plan to offer micro-brews on tap. 
Grounds coffee shop in Cary is closing its doors. They will hold a closing celebration on Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The owners are going to focus full-time on their catering company.
The Boot, an Italian-American restaurant, is expected to open on University Drive in Durham by early September, according to the News and Observer. It is the latest venture from Geer Street Garden chef and owner Andy Magowan.
The Honeysuckle Tea House plans a grand opening event Sunday in Chapel Hill, the Triangle Business Journal reports. This small farm and greenhouse also has a tea room and natural children's play area. The grand opening is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature herb crafts, tours, live music and a maypole dance at 3 p.m.
