Triangle restaurant news (May 23, 2014)

RALEIGH, N.C. — Latitudes: Fine food and spirits opened this week in Knightdale. They are serving lunch and dinner. Try the pimento cheese burger! Delicious! 

Cocoa Cinnamon is planning to open a second location in Durham. It will be located at Hillsborough Road and Trent Drive in Old West Durham, Indy Week reports. It is planning to open in spring 2015.

Nana's owner Scott Howell is planning to open a French restaurant and bar. It will be located at 102 E. Main St. in the rear annex of the former Citizens National Bank building, the Herald Sun reports. Triangle Business Journal says it will be called Bar Virgile and will have a 49-seat bar with upscale cocktails and French and country food.

Country singer Toby Keith's restaurant chain I Love This Bar & Grill is headed to Cary's Parkside Town Commons, TBJ reports. It will be located in the second phase of the development which is under construction. No word on when the restaurant will open. 

Earlier this week, chef Scott Crawford announced that he will be leaving The Umstead Hotel to open two new restaurants in downtown Raleigh. The first - Standard Food - will be a specialty grocery store and restaurant in Person Street Plaza. It is expected to open this fall. His flagship restaurant, Nash Tavern, is expected to open in Nash Square in 2015.

A new bread company has opened in downtown Raleigh. Triangle Food Guy reports that Boulted Bread is now open on West South Street. They make fresh bread and pastry from their house milled heirloom and locally sourced grains. They are open Wednesday and Friday 4-7 p.m. Just place your orders in advance online and pick up your bread. 

Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint has announced plans to open three Triangle locations, Triangle Business Journal reports. The first one will be in Raleigh. No specific location has been announced. Uncle Maddio's specializes in make-your-own pizzas. 

The people behind Olio and Aceto Food Truck are taking over the old Tracey's New York Deli space on Elliott Road in Chapel Hill, Triangle Food Guy reports. They are planning to open the new restaurant in early June. 

Our friend Triangle Explorer John Huisman tipped us off that The Meat House in Cary has changed its name to The Butcher's Market.
