Lafayette Village gets a new American/Mexican restaurant and a food truck favorite finally starts serving up some food at a brick and mortar location.

RALEIGH, N.C.Taqueria Americana is now open in Lafayette Village. They are serving up tacos, burritos, salads, sandwiches and hot dogs. They also have beer and wine.
Demo's Pizzeria is expected to open Monday on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. It is in the former home of Bada Bing. 
A new restaurant is opening inside the new HQ Raleigh building on South Harrington Street. Opening tonight for First Friday, ideATE will be serving burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes, pie and grilled cheese from 6-8 p.m. The restaurant will only open the First Friday of every month from 6-8 p.m.
The Oaks opened last week off of Lake Boone Trail in the former home of 618 Bistro. This restaurant, from the same folks show brought you Taste, boasts fresh, modern scratch-made cuisine. They are serving lunch and dinner.
Triangle Food Guy reports that Cafe 121 chef and owner Gregory Hamm is opening P.G. Werth's in downtown Raleigh. It will be located at 927 W. Morgan St. and is expected to open in mid-July.
Triangle Raw Foods has opened Cafe Love on Old Chapel Hill Road Durham. It is only open for takeout right now due to zoning issues. They are having an official grand opening celebration Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Growler Grlz, a growler shop that plans to offer micro-brews on tap, is planning its grand opening on May 16. It is located on Hope Valley Road in Durham.
Durham is getting a new Peruvian restaurant. The Herald Sun is reporting that Mi Peru will be located at 4105 University Drive in the spot formerly occupied by Fresno Cafe. No opening date has been set.
We are getting closer to the opening of Bittersweet, a dessert and cocktail lounge in downtown Raleigh. Located on East Martin Street, this lounge and restaurant will also serve coffee and bar snacks. Their Facebook page shows that they are meeting their neighbors and doing bartender training, so hopefully an opening date will be soon! 
One closing to report: Sparians in North Hills will close its doors on Monday. It plans to reopen in August as Kings Bowl, a retro-inspired chain that offers bowling, food and cocktails.
