Posted June 13, 2014

Taqueria Americana in Lafayette Village is holding its grand opening celebration Saturday. From noon to 2 p.m., a classic fire truck from the group First-in-Fire will be on hand. This restaurant serves up tacos, burritos, salads, sandwiches, hot dogs and hot wings! They also have beer and wine.

Sup Dogs opened its location on East Franklin Street in Chapel Hill this week. They are known for their exotic hot dogs and burgers. This is their second location. Their first is in Greenville.

The owner of Venable Rotisserie Bistro in Carr Mill Mall is planning to open a lounge in the former home of DSI Comedy Theatre on North Greensboro Street in Carrboro, Triangle Business Journal reports. The B-Side Lounge will serve small plates and drinks. It is expected to open later this summer. DSI Comedy has moved to 426 W. Franklin St. in Chapel Hill.

Durham has a new restaurant on Broad Street. Oval Park Grille is in the former home of Broad Street Cafe. Their menu features a constantly updating menu featuring fresh vegetables and other fare.

We are keeping our eyes on a new bar headed to downtown Raleigh's Fayetteville Street. Common 414 describes itself on Facebook as an "upscale cocktail bar." It will be located at 414 Fayetteville St. No word on when they plan to open.

Actually the company First-In-Fire is a locally owned company. It is not a public owned piece of equipment.

Why is a firetruck, a piece of publically owned equipment being used to promote a restaurant, a privately owned business, of which most of us will never visit before it goes bankrupt
