Triangle Restaurant News: Espresso, wine bar opens in Fuquay-Varina

Raleigh, N.C. — The Mill, a craft beer, wine and espresso bar, opened this week in downtown Fuquay-Varina.
More Fuquay news: A Steak 'n Shake is proposed at 8012 Fayetteville Road (U.S. 401), Triangle Business Journal reports. The location is near the Kings Grand Commons shopping center. There is already one location in north Raleigh off of Millbrook Road near Capital Boulevard. Another is being built at 5900 Duraleigh Road in Raleigh.
Locked and Loaded Bar & Grill in Garner opened this week at its new location just a mile down the road at 305 McCormick St. The restaurant closed two weeks ago in its former location on Highway 70.
Taverna Agora Greek restaurant is planning to move from its location at 6101 Glenwood Ave. in north Raleigh to a newly renovated building at 326 Hillsborough St. near the downtown Raleigh Holiday Inn, Triangle Business Journal reports. Taverna is planning to open in the new location in the first quarter of 2015. A developer group representing Krispy Kreme is reportedly negotiating to buy Taverna's old space.
Sardi's Den Restaurant & Lounge is planning to open its first franchise location in north Raleigh, TBJ reports. The restaurant will be in the old home of Oliver Twist in Brennan Station next to O2 Fitness. Sardi's has been a popular rib house in Clemson, S.C., for the past 20 years.
Greek Garden has opened in downtown Apex in the former home of Yummy Yogurt, the News and Observer reports.
Aiko Raleigh Bar and Lounge on Glenwood Avenue is celebrating its grand opening month by offering $5 plates, $5 hot sake and $5 sake bombs. The bar and lounge is open 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The official grand opening is Friday, Dec. 5.
City Barbecue is looking at a site in Durham for a second North Carolina location, the Herald-Sun reports. Representatives at looking at 208 W. Highway 54. The Ohio-based chain opened a Cary location earlier this year.
Night Kitchen Bakehouse and Cafe is holding a series of soft openings this weekend. It will be open on Friday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Triangle Food Guy reports that this Seaboard Station restaurant is planning to open next week.
Another tidbit from TFG: El Cerro Bar and Grill is opening in the old home of Fork and Barrel in the Falls Village shopping center off of Falls of Neuse Road in north Raleigh.
