Triangle Restaurant News: Cheese shop opens in Lafayette Village

RALEIGH, N.C.Six Forks Cheese has opens its doors today (Friday, July 18) at Lafayette Village in north Raleigh. This gourmet shop  features fromage from around the world and local cheese purveyors. 
Sam's Pizza and Salads is holding its grand opening celebration at North Hills in Raleigh on Saturday. From 3-6 p.m. in the commons, enjoy live music and tastings. At 5 p.m., there will be a pizza eating contest.
The owners of Monuts Donuts have purchased the old Magnolia Grill location on Ninth Street in Durham. They plan to open a Monuts Donuts at that location by November. No word on what they plan to do with the current Monuts space on East Parrish Street. 
The Kamado Grille restaurant group has purchased the old Lucky 32 restaurant building on Spring Forest Road in north Raleigh, Triangle Business Journal reports. The space at 832 Springfield Commons Drive has been vacant since 2006. Kamado Grille is expected to specialize in "food prepared on ceramic, kamado-style grills," TBJ reports. 
A new Italian restaurant has opened in Fuquay-Varina. Garibaldi Tratorria, 900 N. Main St., serves lunch and dinner, the News and Observer reports. 
Wake Forest has a new farm-to-table restaurant. Farm Table, located in Gateway Commons Circle, opened this week. They are open for dinner only seven nights a week. 
Durham is getting a new brewery. Perpetual Brewing Co. is hoping to open in downtown Durham, Triangle Business Journal reports. The venture is from Ariel Loder who used to work for Big Boss Brewing. He is planning a 20-barrel brewing system and an 1,800-square-foot taproom. 
The Pita Pit on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill has closed. Triangle Food Guy reports that Campus Calzones will be opening in that location. No word on when, but their sign is up. 
Ledo Pizza and Firehouse Subs are planning to open new restaurants in the 54 Plaza buildings near the intersection of Miami Boulevard and N.C. Highway 54 near Morrisville, TBJ reports. Ledo Pizza is based in Maryland. The first of the 54 Plaza buildings is expected to open early next year.
