A look at Joule on South Wilmington Street in downtown Raleigh.

— Ashley Christensen's new coffee shop, Joule, located in the spot formerly occupied by the Wilmoore Cafe  next to Busy Bee Cafe in downtown Raleigh, has opened! They will start serving brunch this weekend and then breakfast on Wednesday, just in time for Hopscotch! Try their croissants - made fresh every hour - and the Ashe County Cheese Biscuit, which is huge!!

We got a sneak peek this week as the owners of Mexican restaurant Jibarra, located in the warehouse district of downtown Raleigh, worked to transform the restaurant into its new concept, Jose and Sons. The new place is going to honor their Mexican-Southern upbringing. They hope to open on Monday for dinner and will serve brunch on Sundays!

Latin Quarters has opened off of Six Forks Road. Their website says they are serving Latin Fusion cuisine and specializing in flavors from Central and South America.

Swad Indian Cuisine has opened off of Strickland Road in north Raleigh. The News and Observer reports that they are serving northern Indian cuisine.

Our friend Triangle Food Guy is reporting that Cucina di Milano has opened in Morrisville, in the spot formerly occupied by Vino's. This Italian restaurant is being run by Vincent Barresi of Vincent's in North Raleigh.

The Capital City Club and the Cardinal Club are planning to consolidate, according to the News and Observer and Triangle Business Journal. The Capital City Club, which is housed in the Progress Energy building on South Wilmington Street, will close and fold operations into the Cardinal Club, located a few blocks away in the Wells Fargo building. The renovation is expected to be complete by next summer. Both clubs are continuing to operate until then.

We are keeping an eye on Oak City Meatball, which will be located right next to Dickey's Barbecue Pit on East Davie Street in downtown Raleigh. Construction started earlier this month, so hopefully they will be open soon!

A new restaurant caught our eye recently while driving down New Bern - Mr. Wonderful's Chicken and Waffles. The Out and About crew will have to go check this one out! We love chicken and waffles!

Weinberg's Delicatessen off of Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh has closed, according to our friends Triangle Explorer and Triangle Food Guy.

Looking ahead to next week: Yellow Dog Bread Company, located on East Franklin Street in Raleigh, is holding its grand opening party on Sept. 6 from 6-9 p.m. They will have samples of their bread, coffee and more.
