The Fresh Market at Cameron Village in Raleigh plans to expand into The Underground/Village Subway space, which used to be a hub for nightclubs and restaurants in the 1970s and 1980s. Triangle Business Journal reports that Fresh Market has signed a lease to move all of its food prep work into the basement area. The area will not be open to the public and there aren't plans to add any more tenants underground. The move will give the market more space on the ground level, where they plan to add an exterior dining area. Renovations are expected to be completed by Thanksgiving.
One of our favorite restaurants in downtown Raleigh - Five Star - will start serving lunch on May 1, according to New Raleigh. The menu will include salads and sandwiches. Humble Pie is also looking to add a lunch menu, but no start date has been announced yet.
In Durham, Gregoria's Cuban Steakhouse, which had a soft opening at its new location in January, will be holding its grand opening celebration tonight (Friday). From 6-8 p.m., enjoy free food, festive music from a nine-piece salsa tribute band and all day $2 mojito, sangria and draft beer specials. Make sure to RSVP to Gregorias@boltpr.com if you want to attend the grand opening party. Gregoria's closed at its previous location last year after a fire.
Pitmaster Ed Mitchell's new barbecue restaurant 'Que is expected to open by the end of the month in the new Diamond View III building at American Tobacco Campus.
Also moving into the Diamond View III building: Basan, a new sushi restaurant from Eschelon Hospitality, TBJ reports. It is expected to open in November.

Closings
Isaac Hunter's Oak City Tavern closed on Sunday in downtown Raleigh. Owners say that as their lease began to wind down at 112 Fayetteville St., their landlord, Pete Gillis, decided to go in a different direction, striking a deal with the owner of 606 Nightclub and Myst in Glenwood South to replace the tavern with a new concept.
Fat Daddy's on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh closed on Monday.
Clyde Cooper's BBQ are moving around the corner to 313 S. Wilmington St. They hope to be open by April 9.
