The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 8304 Leesville Road. The event is sponsored by Tabernacle Baptist Church and Shred-it, a paper shredding services company.

Orange County Solid Waste Management will also hold two free paper shredding events in October. The events are open to Orange County residents, Chapel Hill residents living in Durham County, Orange County businesses and government employees working in Orange County.

The first event will take place Thursday, Oct. 11, at University Mall in Chapel Hill, near the Wachovia Bank building. The second will take place Saturday, Oct. 13, at Hampton Pointe Shopping Center on N.C. Highway 86 in Hillsborough, behind Home Depot. Both events will last from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Each person is limited to one trip with a maximum of 10 "banker-box" sized boxes or bags of paper.

The Apex Police Department will also sponsor a shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. until noon at Apex Town Hall, 73 Hunter St. Residents are limited to two file boxes, and no bags will be accepted.
