Triangle Foodie News: Burger 21 to open in Cary next week

RALEIGH, N.C.Burger 21 is scheduled to open Monday, June 8, in The Bradford shopping center in Cary, the Triangle Business Journal reports. The restaurant, which will be located at 14220 Bradford Green Square, is planning to donate 10 percent of its proceeds during its first two days of operation to the Cary Family YMCA.
Epa Chamo Venezuelan Arepas Bar and Grill has opened on 9th Street in Durham, according to the restaurant's Twitter page. They also serve Venezuelan burgers and sandwiches.
Tibetan Restaurant opened this week at 48 E. Chatham St. in Cary. Its the first Tibetan restaurant in the Triangle area. Thanks to Mark Herman for the tip!
Wayback Burgers in Wilson is celebrating its grand opening Friday and Saturday (June 5-6) by offering buy one, get one free burgers. You can also enter to win free burgers for a year. The restaurant, which specializes in fresh never frozen burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes, is located at 1700 Raleigh Road in the Forest Hills Centre.
A new pop-up ice cream shop has opened at Northgate Mall in Durham. Beaver Bog's Ice Cream will be open through Aug. 31 near Entrance 10 across from the Shoe Department. There will be a grand opening event at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Crepe Culture has opened at 140 W. Franklin St. in Chapel Hill, The Daily Tar Heel reports. The cafe serves up savory and dessert crepes, in addition to coffee, sodas, wine and beer.

Top Dawgs Gourmet Hot Dog Co. is coming to the old home of Taqueria Americana in Lafayette Village in north Raleigh. It is planning to open around July 4, TBJ reports. Thanks to Triangle Explorer aka John Huisman for the tip!
A taco bike is coming to downtown Raleigh. El Taco Cartel is planning to serve authentic street tacos right from the bike, according to its Twitter page. WedPics founder Justin Miller is an investor on this venture, which means it is going to probably rock!
Joe Van Gogh Coffee is opening its third Durham coffee house in the Woodcroft Shopping Center at 4711 Hope Valley Road this fall, owners announced this week. The new store will allow the company to venture into kitchen operations. Joe Van Gogh at Woodcroft will offer light, seasonal fare throughout the year to complement its extensive coffee, tea and frozen beverage menu.
Taverna Agora is expected to open in its new location at 326 Hillsborough St. on Tuesday, June 9, Triangle Food Guy reports.
Closing:
Il Palio at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill will be closing for two months this summer for renovations, TBJ reports. The restaurant is expected to stop taking reservations on June 15 and hopefully reopen by Aug. 15. It is the first major renovation for the restaurant in more than two decades.
Cantina 18 in Cameron Village will be closing on June 14 for a major expansion, the News and Observer reports. They plan to reopen in the fall.
