HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — The trial begins Monday for one of two men wanted for the slaying of a Holly Springs teen.

U.S. Marshals tracked down George Young in September. He was wanted by authorities in connection with the death of  Douglas Mangum.

Mangum was shot to death outside his home on June 4, 2006, investigators said.

Investigators believe Young is a gang member and shot Mangum because he was wearing a red shirt. Mangum was not in a gang.

Police have also charged James Anthony Batiste, 20, of Raleigh, in connection with the Mangum's death. A third person, William Oscar Talavera, 24, of Fuquay-Varina, was charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder.
