Tree removal equipment stolen from Garner restaurant

Posted June 14, 2013

— A dump truck full of logs carrying a trailer and a Bobcat excavation machine were stolen Thursday outside a restaurant in Garner, the owner of a local tree service said Friday.

Tim Robbins, owner of Arbormax Tree Service, said he was inside the Buffalo Wild Wings on Shenstone Lane about 10:45 p.m. when his truck was taken from the parking lot.

Robbins, who said his company had responded to dozens of calls Thursday after powerful storms knocked down trees and power lines across the area, estimated the equipment was worth about $100,000.

Garner police said the 2004 dump truck has a white cab and black bed. The Sunguard trailer was carrying a white and green Bobcat.

Anyone who sees the dump truck should call the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.

How easy is it to move something that big on the black market? Can you actually find somebody willing to buy an excavation machine out the back of a truck?

The truck was a dump truck that had the logs inside the "Dump" part of the truck and it had the trailer hooked to it. The Bobcat was on the trailer.

This sounds pretty typical for the White Oak area. It's like going to an alternate universe how different people can be.

"That must be one huge truck if it can hold a trailer, a bobcat, and a load of logs."

LOL point goes to you. seems anyone can "write" an article or book these days. no wonder we're so dumb.

"what a huge set someone has to have to be daring enough to steal that!!" ---slcota

That's the truth! Either someone plans to go into business, or fence the stuff somewhere. Probably won't be at a flea market; seems like the market for selling that kind of stuff is slim.
