Community meetings are scheduled Monday evening to discuss two transportation projects that affect travelers in North Carolina.

Residents of Northampton and Halifax counties will hear about updates planned for Interstate 95. Speakers from the North Carolina Department of Transportation will be on hand at The Centre at Halifax Community College, 200 College Drive in Weldon, from 4 to 7 p.m. to show maps and plans for the project and to answer questions.

In Raleigh, members of the Five Points neighborhood will have an opportunity to question city leaders about a proposed high-speed rail development known as "NC3." According to the meeting organizers, NC3 would require the use of eminent domain to claim a right-of-way along the current Northern Southern rail area from Peace Street to Wake Forest Road.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Aycock Street.
