A train carrying ammonia derailed in Bladenboro on Saturday afternoon, forcing 300 to 400 people to temporarily leave their homes.

No one was injured after 10 of the 105 CSX rail cars overturned around 3:30 p.m., about 40 miles south of Fayetteville, according to the Bladen County Sheriff's Office.

A hazmat team responded after learning that one of the overturned rail cars was carrying ammonia.

They determined that the car was structurally sound and allowed residents to return to their homes sometime before 11 p.m.
