I wonder why these headlines are always "Train hits car" instead of "Car Driver Stops on Busy Train Crossing". I used to see this same foolish driving every day on the way home from work. I'd stop behind the line at our local crossing and several times a week some driver in the other lane would try and get one car ahead by pulling up and stopping on the tracks. A few times they even changed lanes to use the space in front of me ON THE TRACKS.

In rural areas not all crossings are marked with gates and/or lights, also some people still are dumb enough to try and out run the train.

I don't know why, but I continue to be surprised at these train/car/human collisions. Have the trains stopped blowing their rather loud horns as they approach crossings? I took an Amtrak recently from Raleigh to DC and as I recall, they blew the whistle fairly often, slowed down at crossings, etc. Certainly these people can hear the sirens/horns/bells and see the flashing lights? Maybe it's just suicidal tendencies

Like the yellow buses, could not this woman see this big train? Was she blind? She should be charged. Glad she was not seriously hurt but could have been. May she pay attention the next time.

HOW does this keep happening? Do blind folks now have a drivers license?

Glad she'll be OK, could have been much worse. Guess more will come out on the whys.
