Everyone cannot afford to purchase a new car. You don't know what her budget was and people are so afraid of one another that people don't stop to help people anymore.

If your car is in such Krappy shape that it can't make it past a railroad crossing, it's time to get a new car. Why didn't she put it in neutral and let a few of the other motorists, push her car out of the way? That takes only a few seconds and she broke down there with enough time to get some of her things and a small crowd to gather. That would be enough time to get the car out of the way.

Really getting ridiculous how many people are getting themselves hit by trains. Time to fence in the tracks and close at-grade crossings?
