I'm meteorologist, Amy Wilmeth in the WRL severe weather center, some rain possible late this evening. And tonight, as a cold front approaches, we'll have a disturbance swing through and we'll have the potential for a couple of hit and miss showers and thunderstorms later on this evening, it's about a 20% chance for rain until around nine pm. At 10 o'clock, it goes up to a 30% chance and then we have a 40% chance for scattered showers and storms from 11 pm until around 3 a.m. So some of this lingering into the overnight hours while you're sleeping, we do not expect any severe thunderstorms. We're not under a severe risk. A look at our rain chances for tonight. It's a 40% and then Wednesday, it's a 20% chance for rain. By the time we, it's a Friday night, a 20% chance for rain and then a decent chance for rain. Saturday. It's a 60% chance. And the same thing Sunday, we're going with a 60% chance for rain as well. This evening, around 839 o'clock, the storms start to approach our northwestern counties. Around 1011 o'clock. Those showers and a few isolated storms will be moving through the triangle area. And then again, some of those lingering into the overnight hours. Now Wednesday is looking pretty dry. Only a slim chance for rain on Wednesday in the afternoon and evening wouldn't rule out a stray shower or maybe an isolated thunderstorm. But most of you will stay dry on Wednesday. Looking ahead to the weekend, it looks like it's going to be pretty unsettled Saturday morning looks like we'll start off dry. But then by the time we get to the second half of the day, showers and storms become likely and that's going to happen Sunday as well. Sunday morning, some light rain around and then in the afternoon and evening, some scattered showers and some thunderstorms will be possible so late this evening and tonight, even overnight tonight, showers may be an isolated storm with temperatures in the low to mid sixties and then tomorrow is mainly dry. Just a 20% chance for rain still warm. 83 in Durham, 84 for the high in Raleigh and in Fayetteville, it's going to be very warm as we wrap up the work week. 88 on Thursday, 89 Friday and then unsettled Saturday and Sunday with scattered showers and storms. High temperatures will be in the low eighties, both of those days and still the potential for some afternoon storms on both Monday and Tuesday
