— All lanes of Interstate 440 near Capital Boulevard were open again Friday afternoon after some were closed for hours following a tractor-trailer wreck.

Raleigh police said the truck tipped over on the ramp leading to the inner loop as it was attempting to enter the Beltline from southbound Capital Boulevard.

Two of the three lanes on the Inner Beltline near the ramp were closed for nearly four hours as crews cleared the scene. Traffice was backed up for miles.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, and there were no serious injuries reported, police said.

The wreck was still under investigation Friday afternoon, and it was still unclear whether charges would be filed.

Truckers drive like they think they own the road.

It's especially dangerous on I-40/I-85 between Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte.

A lot people take US-1 to US-64 to NC-49 to avoid the Truckers on their way to Charlotte.

"Too many drive like they own the road and you'd better stay out of their way."

MANY drivers drive this way, no matter what kind of vehicle they drive.

The wreck and the responding wreckers are out of the roadway. The only thing blocking the beltway are about 5 City Police cars and officers standing around !

I'm glad the driver is ok, but he will be looking for a job.

I Hate even driving near one of these big rigs. They always weave and either cross or ride next to the center line. Too many drive like they own the road and you'd better stay out of their way. Glad he's ok but wonder how fast was he going??

    Glad the driver is okay.

daplaw123, Was the driver speeding? From the driving skills or lack thereof that I've seen first-hand on a lot of 18-wheeler drivers lately there obviously needs to be more stringent requirements for driving the big rigs. I hope the driver is ok.

I was there when this happend I have pics up close. It was scary when it first happend I thought the truck was going to explode, but everyone was running to see if the driver was ok. It was amazing the courage everyone had to help this driver. I commend everyone that was out there my hats go off to everyone. God bless.

So the driver's life is potentially in danger, and you're snapping pictures, instead of helping? Thanks for all your help!...sheesh!

I hope that you helped the driver BEFORE taking pictures. If you just stopped to take pictures, that's sad.
