FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Northbound lanes on Interstate 95 have been reopened after a passenger van ran off the road near N.C. Highway 210 Sunday morning.

Driver Donato Flores, 23, fell asleep at the wheel, causing the van to run off the northbound side of the road and overturn at about 7:30 a.m., troopers said.

Ten people were in the van and some were thrown from the vehicle into woods, troopers said. They suffered non-life-threatening injures.

Paramedics transported the injured to Cape Fear Valley Health System.

WRAL footage shows that van was badly damaged and its front windshield was completely busted out.

Northbound lanes were closed for a short time, backing up traffic. They were re-opened about a 1½ hour after the wreck.

Fayetteville police and state troopers responded to the wreck.
