Names released in Aviation Parkway crash

Police from Cary and Morrisville responded to a head-on collision on Aviation Parkway in Morrisville around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Police from Cary and Morrisville responded to a head-on collision on Aviation Parkway in Morrisville around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Two people – one from each vehicle – were taken to area hospitals after the wreck.

Claudia Chavez-Ferreira, 35, was driving a grey Mitsubishi north on Aviation Parkway when she crossed over the center line and hit a white Acura going south driven by Joshua Williams, 24.

Ferreira was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition at Duke Hospital on Thursday. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to Cary police.

Williams was wearing his seat belt. He was expected to be released from WakeMed.

The crash was still under investigation Thursday. No charges have been filed.
