Bus Driver 'Fell Asleep' Before Crash
Authorities charged a Greyhound bus driver with careless and reckless driving Tuesday morning after he fell asleep at the wheel and the bus crashed. Twelve passengers had minor injuries.

Steven Leverne Holloman, 52, was driving the bus south on U.S. 1 in Vance County when it ran off the road, struck a ditch and rolled over on its right side.
"I was asleep, so when I like woke up, all I know was the bus was turning over," said passenger Katrina Brown.
The bus slid about 100 feet before stopping at the tree line on the right shoulder, troopers said. The bus was traveling from Richmond, Va., to Fayetteville.
"They were fortunate that the location where they did crash, that it was just down an embankment and that it was just a flat field with no trees, no utility poles or anything of that nature that could’ve caused more severe injuries," said Trooper Chad Lloyd.
Holloman, from Fredericksburg, Va., told troopers he was very tired and fell asleep, authorities said.
Another Greyhound bus crashed on U.S. 1 in Vance County in January. The driver of that bus rear-ended a flatbed truck and flipped. Nearly 50 passengers were taken to local hospitals.
