Crash Closes Buffaloe Road, Knocks Out Power

— Buffaloe Road was closed near River Landing s Drive in Wake County at the beginning of the Tuesday afternoon rush hour after a car struck a utility pole and knocked out power in the area, including traffic lights along Buffaloe Road, officials said.

There was no immediate information on the condition of those riding in the minivan that hit the pole off the east side of the road.

Progress Energy said it had 2,845 customers without power.

One side of Buffaloe Road reopened about 30 minutes after the crash.

    This was my father-in-law. He had a heart attack while driving, blacked out, and hit the pole. He is still in the hospital.

    He's normally a pretty good driver.

    These poor quality poles, I tell ya. What are the odds that out of all that open raod space, a car has to hit the pole. I just don't get it. Too many poles are getting hit in the triangle.

    Wow! Looks like the minivan held up pretty well in this front end crash. Can't say so much for the utility pole!

    There is in Buffaloe Rd. It's spelled correctly in the article.
