Crash Closes Buffaloe Road, Knocks Out Power

An accident broke a utility pole, knocking out power to traffic lights in the area of River Landings Drive.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Buffaloe Road was closed near River Landing s Drive in Wake County at the beginning of the Tuesday afternoon rush hour after a car struck a utility pole and knocked out power in the area, including traffic lights along Buffaloe Road, officials said.

There was no immediate information on the condition of those riding in the minivan that hit the pole off the east side of the road.

Progress Energy said it had 2,845 customers without power.

One side of Buffaloe Road reopened about 30 minutes after the crash.
